"Joy, feeling one's own value, being appreciated and loved by others, feeling useful and capable of production are all factors of enormous value for the human soul." Maria Montessori
What is the Montessori Method?
The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Dr. Montessori’s Method has been time tested, with over 100 years of success in diverse cultures throughout the world.
It is a view of the child as one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It is an approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional, cognitive. - American Montessori Society
Morning Program 8:45-11:45 Monday - Friday
Our morning program is for children ages 2.7-6 years old. Children work together in a mixed-age classroom. They collaborate on works and learn from one another. The teachers facilitate this learning by giving lessons, observing, and encouraging children to make choices from a variety of areas within the classroom.
Extended Day Program 8:45-3:15 Monday - Thursday 8:45-11:45 on Friday
At the age of 5 children are ready to become the leaders of the classroom. During the extended day year children are encouraged to do more challenging works and to demonstrate leadership skills. The extended day year is the perfect transition to the next phase of your child's education whether it be to another Montessori environment or a traditional public school.
